McQueen lives on

the following post is a duplicate of what I wrote here.  no sense in redundancy:

I find it difficult to write about this tragedy He was a great man with a great mind. The theatrics of his shows were matched only by the skill of his garment construction. For whatever reason, Lee McQueen, founder and designer for Alexander McQueen, felt it necessary to take his own life February 11th 2010 (some are linking it to the death of his mother who was scheduled to be buried the day after). A note was left but the contents have not been made public. While it looks like an apparent suicide, authorities are hesitant in calling it such. A full inquiry is underway and the results have yet to be released however the cause of his death has been ruled as asphyxiation due to hanging. There is a scheduled hearing to the inquest for April 28th. There are no details as to his scheduled funeral.

Many questions were raised as to what will happen to McQueen the company. PPR chairman and chief executive Francois Henri-Pinault just announced that the Alexander McQueen brand will live on. But who can and will replace him? We will all soon find out. As far as his final collection scheduled to show for Paris fashion week, Alexander McQueen is still on the books to show March 9th 2010 at 8.30pm as of February 17th. The world will be watching.
